Join your peers for the next SEI Houston Chapter Luncheon Technical Session:

"Raising A Cable-Stayed Bridge: A Plan to Increase Navigation Clearance in Savannah, GA"

This presentation discusses a unique approach for an intermediate term solution for enhancing the efficiency of port operations for minimal cost through out-of-the-box engineering modifications to a 35-year-old bridge. We will discuss the evolution of container ship operations with respect to worldwide commerce and its impact on clearances entering ports such as the Port of Savannah as an introduction to this one-of-a-kind bridge modification.

Speaker Bio: Mr. Hague, an HNTB Vice President, developed the concept and is currently assigned as the independent design reviewer for the reprofiling of the Eugene Talmadge Memorial Bridge in Savannah, GA. He has over 40 years of professional engineering experience in complex bridge and interchange design. For the last 35 years he has specialized in the design and construction of major river crossings and complex bridges around the country including nine cable-stayed bridges and twelve bridges over the Mississippi River.
