Introduction to HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS Training

Join us for a two-day training focused on the HEC suite of programs. The seminars will be a general overview of the capabilities and practical application of the HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS software packages for hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.  These software are produced and maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer’s Hydrologic Engineering Center in Davis, California, and are widely used in the water resources engineering industry.

Participants will be able to review key basic principles of hydrologic and hydraulics used in the modeling software, learn about the programs’ user interface, discuss applications for hydrologic design and open channel flow analyses, and explore the use of the programs with hand-on exercises.  This training is being offered both in-person and virtually to offer you two ways to attend.

Instructors will include:

  • Andrew Yung, PE, CFM, D.WRE, Principal and Chief Hydrologist, Walter P Moore
  • Andres Salazar, PhD, PE, D.WRE, Principal and Director of Water Resources Engineering, Walter P Moore

See below for additional speaker details.

Schedule

7:30am to 4:30pm, November 16th and 17th

Important Reminder: please bring your own laptop with software pre-installed.
