"Low Carbon Concrete and How to Get There"
Concrete is an indispensable construction component and the second most consumed material on the planet after water. Unfortunately, this large use means that it has a CO2 footprint to match. However, there are ways to make concrete more “green” and this presentation will cover the sustainability aspects of concrete and how to achieve low carbon concrete. It will be of interest to engineers, agencies and contractors who use and write specifications for cement and concrete based products and are looking for way to lower the embodied CO2 footprint for their projects.
Topics covered include:
- Cement, Concrete & CO2
- How to measure CO2
- Alternatives to reduce CO2
- Vertua – CEMEX’s Low Carbon Concrete
