Dredging out Hurricane Harvey

Presented by Amanda Retta, P.E.

ABOUT THE SESSION

Lake Houston was inundated with debris deposited by Hurricane Harvey in 2017. The City of Houston, through multiple recovery phases, developed a removal plan that included consideration of multiple dredging methods, development of dredged subsurfaces, and consideration of environmental impacts to surrounding wetlands and the existing lake water quality. Tetra Tech helped design and execute the removal of approximatly 780,000 CY of debris.
